It was a cool autumn night
When a little girl sat on her swing in the corner of the porch
When she heard a little bird sing
A special tune
The sun was setting
And out came a blue moon
Then her grandmother told her a tale
A tale that had been told with ages without fail
On the night of the first blue moon.
A boy began to play a special tune
Under the bright blue moon the boy saw
A furry, white, shimmering, paw
The unicorn stepped out under the moon
And began to prance to boys special tune
Then the unicorn nuzzled the boy with his nose
The boy was surprised, but he knows
That the unicorn came for a reason I suppose
The boy climbed on the unicorn’s back
He began to rise higher and higher in the sky
Through the clouds to a magical place
Where he rode a sleigh
The boy climbed on the unicorn’s back
He began to rise higher and higher in the sky
Through the clouds to a magical place,
Where he rode in a sleigh in a unicorn race.
And the boy brought the unicorn to his house
Where the boy would return very soon;
To the sound of the boy’s special tune.

This is the tune the little bird sang,
The tune the little boy played
The night the unicorn came on the first blue moon
Dancing at the little boy’s special, magical, tune.
